A Minecraft Adventure (C’mon, grab your friends)

I recently got roped into Minecraft by my daughter Kat.  I was reluctant at first, but then I jumped right into it the same way I do Legos – working mostly on my projects while also engaging in some roleplaying with Kat’s projects.

But then I began to realize the full potential of Minecraft – mainly, its modding communities.  When I was a nerdy teen, I played games with the rest of my friends, but it was Starcraft’s mutliplayer system that introduced me to mods.  The modded Starcraft maps offered me roleplaying games, unique challenges, and recreations of my favorite movie scenes.

And Minecraft mods? They’re a big step up in scope, and still plenty accessible to creators.  It was only a matter of time before I tried it out myself.

When I feasted my eyes on leonel’s Adventure Time Resource Pack, I knew I wanted to do something amazing with it.  I began gathering Adventure Time-related mods and putting them into a comprehensive pack, meant to flesh out an Adventure Time themed world.

Progress is slow, due to my inexperience, countless other projects, and the scope of my undertaking.  Mostly, I’ve gone in for palette swaps of leonel’s own textures, such as the textures below I created for Mystcraft:

I’m seeking help building this pack, but I’m just having fun right now.  I’ll let you know how this develops!
