Poem: Blessed and Blessed

I am bound, leg on knee,
Arms crossed, back straight.
Calm on a sea of metal.
A cloud of heat, pushing up,
Leads us into silence.

Drop by drop
A bit of peace
Falling through
The hatch of the Northbound bus.

Drop by drop, let in
The baby bit of water.
Here, there, on the head, on the shoulder.
As if placed deliberate.

How could you understand? How
Could I make you understand?
You were wet, not blessed. I
was blessed and blessed and
Blessed.

You shut the vent.
You shut the window.
I had my moment.
The smallest sensation
Of freedom
Of levity
Of boundless nature
Was better than a thousand days
Of the same
Same
Same
